«Never apologize to a mob. You’re not dealing with individuals who you can establish a relationship with. You’re dealing with a soulless idea that has people in its possession.»
Jordan Peterson (some other video, not the recommended one here)
Jordan Peterson’s interviews are often hit or miss, but this is a clear hit. He talks to Lee Jussim, mostly about psychology, incl. left-wing authoritarianism and a cancellation attempt ( https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WIpX1ME9Zvg or https://x.com/jordanbpeterson/status/1869212086099927308 ).
Ah, and I forgot (update on same day), regarding the reported experiment on DIE, I wonder how they controlled for demand characteristics. I mean, if you give people a text about anti-racism first and then let them judge something, many would assume there is a relation between the two tasks. They might just wanted to be a good study participant. But I don’t know the paper itself.
Lee Jussim has a lot of popular science articles on Psychology Today ( https://www.psychologytoday.com/intl/contributors/lee-jussim-phd ), btw.
Highly recommended.
