Selective iOS Calendar Widget

«I value a friend who for me finds time on his calendar, but I cherish the friend who for me does not consult his calendar.»

The widgets in iOS are a nice idea. You can configure your screen to show, e.g., the weather, photos, or what’s next in the calendar.

Usually these widgets allow for personalization. With the Up Next calendar widget, you can select which calendars should be shown in that widget — independent of what you see in your iOS calendar (where you have the same choice).

Simply long-press the widget, select “Edit Calendar” (if it’s in a stack), deactivate “Mirror Calendar App” and press on the Calendars below. You can then simply select the calendars you want to see.

Very useful, for example if you sync two calendars that display the same information. I do it for my work calendar, one from Microsoft Exchange, the other in iCal — if there is a fuck up with one calendar, I still have the information available in the other calendar. But in the Up Next Calendar widget, I want to see each appointment only once.

Once is enough. 😉
