Exporting ChatGPT Page Text

There are two kinds of people – those who don’t do what they want to do so they write down in a diary about what they haven’t done and those who are too busy to write about it ’cause they’re out doing it!

Recently, ChatGPT seems to have changed the way the page is loaded in longer conversations. When you «select all» and then «copy», it copies only part of the information. I lost some information this way.

However, ChatGPT as able to write a JavaScript bookmark that makes export possible. At least it seems complete, though with some formatting issues in tables. No warranty!

Just create a bookmark in the browser, but instead of an URL, put the code from this .txt file into the URL field (no warranty; I cannot put the code directly in WordPress, as it fights bookmarklets).

If you click on the bookmark while in a ChatGPT conversation, it should move to the top, then moves down the whole page and — after a few seconds — generate a window where you can copy-paste the whole text (e.g., as HTML, markdown).

It’s a bypass but it seems to prevent lost information.
