«We are absolutely kidding ourselves if we believe we are safer in a world where we do not know what everybody thinks.»
Greg Lukianoff
Germany is rather extreme when it comes to Internet censorship. All under the guise of protecting its citizens or acting against so-called «hate speech». Even the term «Digital Services Act» is Orwellian. But at least if you know the URL of a banned tweet, there are ways around it.
For example, you can use a website such as Tweetpik ( https://tweethunter.io/tweetpik ) to simply take a screenshot of the provided URL.
As that website sits outside of the EU censorship umbrella, it can access the content and provide you with an image. Reminds me of the story when, due to an embargo on exporting a specific encryption software (PGP if I remember correctly), some people simply printed the full source code as a book and exported that book.
Not perfect, but it works … for now.
