Heat Curtains (Part II)

First of all, the worthy fellow had gone up to his room, and had extinguished the gas-burner, which had been burning for eighty days. He had found in the letter-box a bill from the gas company, and he thought it more than time to put a stop to this expense, which he had been doomed to bear.
«Around the World in 80 Days» by Jules Verne (1873)

Beginning of November last year, I wrote about sewing curtains with some extra insulation (rescue blankets). The idea was to save on heating, given Germany’s atrocious energy politics and the corresponding high gas prices.

Well, not sure whether they would work, but judging by the gas bill that arrived today — they just might have. Looks like I have used less gas than last year. And yeah, that also likely did depend on the (mild) winter.

But overall, yeah, I guess they did do their job. 🙂
