Giving children what they need

When does it mean something to the child?

I think it was Dennis Prager in a podcast who mentioned that you might want to give your children what you did not have, but that you should also remember to give them what you did have.

And I think that’s something to think about, after all, if I think back on what formed me, it was in part the challenges, the limitations I had to deal with. It wasn’t nice, but having to work for stuff (incl. whole summer vacations) did provide a very useful lesson.

So yeah, something to think about. What did you have — positive and negative — that you want your children to have?
