Worthy Goals — Avoiding Delicious Treats

«The surest way to work up a crusade in favor of some good cause is to promise people they will have a chance of maltreating someone. To be able to destroy with good conscience, to be able to behave badly and call your bad behavior ‹righteous indignation› this is the height of psychological luxury, the most delicious of moral treats.»
Aldous Huxley

Someone once said that the reason why fake news works so well is that we want the moral satisfaction of being for something that is good, and the media provides us with someone who is morally reprehensible. And in world, in which many people lack meaning (lack of religion, no children, etc.) this is pretty powerful.

Huxley’s comment (see quotation above) fits perfectly here. That is something we humans are really susceptible to and that can be easily used to put us against each other.

Currently I see the development when it comes to putting vaccinated against unvaccinated. I’m not going into the insanity of that approach here but I think it’s something to think very critically about. And to act as an individual, not as a part of a vaccinated or unvaccinated group.

Just a thought.
