Painting: It does’t have to start perfect

«Painting is the only imitation of visible nature … That is the reason why painting is a science, a rightful daughter of nature — or perhaps we could call it a granddaughter of nature, since nature produces visible things, and a painting arises from created things.»
Leonardo da Vinci, around 1500

I’ve posted about it in the beginning of 2019, but hey, this is something that bears repeating: it really pays to watch a master paint.

Looking at Stjepan Sejic painting — I mean, seriously, how could you ever get the idea yourself that you can paint this way:

I would have thought a painting has to be perfect from the beginning, but it does not have to be. So, highly recommended.
