That some good can be derived from every event is a better proposition than that everything happens for the best, which it assuredly does not.

Following the Retraction Watch blog, I came across a posting about Colin Purrington’s site which offers advice on designing conference posters. Apparently it was plagiarized verbatim by another organization who now threatens to sue him (on the plus side, I think he has more traffic now).
Besides tips on Designing conference posters, his site also contains other advice which looks very interesting:
- Maintaining a laboratory notebook
- Writing science papers
- Giving science talks
- Requesting letters of recommendation
- Laptops in class?
I’ll have to have a closer look at the site, but so far it looks very interesting. In any case, the conference poster tips are much more detailed and result in more “classical” conference poster than my take on conference posters.
