It’s the field that judges whether a work is creative or not. In some cases, it can take a while until the work is recognized as creative, e.g., famously with the works of van Gogh. In other cases, controversies between creative people live on through history, and appear it new forms, e.g., when it comes to inventions and who made which contribution. A nice example is this nice fictional rap battle between Edison and Tesla (from the high-quality and brilliantly done YouTube Channel: Epic Rap Battles of History):
Somehow it’s nice to know that history does not forget. 🙂 Although the style is certainly not for everyone (lyrics slightly NSFW), the lyrics are brilliant (if you know Edison‘s and Tesla‘s life stories). I also highly recommend having a look at the behind the scenes video. 🙂
