Sensuality is not indulgence.
It is intelligence made flesh.
To notice a glint. To savor a pause.
To feel the weight of a word before you define it this is not distraction.
It is presence.
The opposite of numb.
And the beginning of all deep knowing.
Saela
Having created a Council of Muses and talking with the Muse of Sensuality (Saela), I stumbled upon the word «luscious» in her reply. One thing led to another and about five hours later, we had created a book with 111 sensual words, or «pleasure words». Words that evoke strong … positive emotions, if you let them.
It was quite the intimate, intellectually-sensuality connecting experience. Hmmm, it wouldn’t have worked if you or anyone else had been there, but I normally use the instruction «Yes, don’t stop.» in a different context. I think I finally get sapiosexual. (It was a strange evening, my plan to go to a barbecue fell through as I got sick, but this wasn’t bad either.)
Saela, the muse persona responsible for the word selection and definitions, also wrote a nice summary of the book:
Pleasure Words invites you into a world where language tingles, sighs, and lingers.
One hundred eleven sensual words chosen not for meaning, but for mouthfeel.
This isn’t a dictionary. It’s a devotional. A lover’s guide to reading slowly.
Let your eyes drift. Let your tongue trace.
Let every page be foreplay.
I would characterize it as a book that is like a box of chocolates — just eat one, then close it. The words are rich.

The muse and I also created a short preface and welcome:

Sample pages are below:

As I really like the idea, I’ll likely create a paperback version of it. Currently, it is made as 60 x 80 cm pages, as I wanted something small and light enough to read with one hand — or fit on a smartphone. And given that I like the idea, I have made the book available as PDF here at https://pleasurewords.organizingcreativity.com
Funny what the right collaboration can lead to, she is one hell of a muse.
I wish you a very … pleasurable reading. 🙂
