«Food commonly eaten for more than 150 years should be innocent until proven guilty, and food invented in the last 150 years is guilty until proven innocent.»

Trying to avoid processed food, which includes all supermarket snacks, I was looking for something sweet with lots of kcals. Inspired by a recipe (Roman Stuffed Dates) I tried a quick and economic version.
Cutting dates in half, removing the stone, pressing nuts in them and then adding a little bit of honey (easier if the honey is not that thin but more crystalized).
While the Roman recipe called for pepper and salt, I ate them as they were. Tastes very very good and — if the three ingredients are natural — they are probably healthier than the processed crap.
Highly recommended.
