Milkshakes, yeah!

«Some nights, a person doesn’t need to drink.»
To Catch a Thief

Recently I tried out making milkshakes. It started with reading the recipe for “Mudder’s Milk” again — a fictional drink from the series “Firefly”. Reeder provided a recipe in “The Geeky Chef Cook Book” (nice book, actually). I changed the original recipe a bit to remove the alcohol and add a bit of energy:

Ingredients

  • 1/4 Cup Oatmeal
  • 1/2 Cup Milk
  • 2 Tablespoons Peanut Butter
  • 1/2 Cup Plain Greek Yogurt
  • 1 Banana
  • Honey to taste
  • Cinnamon to taste
  • (removed: Ice, 2-3 shots of honey whiskey)

added:

  • 1 caffeine pill

You just blend the whole mix and come out with a surprisingly tasty yet nutritious drink. Careful with the caffeine though, it’s easy to get the dosage too high.

Playing around with the ingredients a bit more and adding fruits (strawberries, raspberries, nectarines, while removing the oatmeal and peanut butter) resulted in other very tasty drinks. It’s actually surprising what you can do with a hand blender and the right ingredients.

Really, really … tasty 🙂
