Recommendation: 9 Chickweed Lane Comic Strip

Truths can be in soap operas and comic books.

I recently stumbled upon the comic strip “9 Chickweed Lane” by Brooke McEldowney over at gocomics. And yeah, it started over 25 years ago (still running, yeah! :-)), but damn, that’s a great comic strip I did miss.

To give an impression, here are a few very nice strips:

Given that the comic strip itself tells an overarching story, it really pays to read them from the beginning. The characters are nice, the drawing very good to excellent, and the overall design and humor it’s just … sweet. (With the occasional sad moment, esp. that moment on the field in France, 1944).

Highly, highly recommended, especially if you love ballet and music (esp. cello and piano).

Oh, yes, and did I mention it is mostly about love? 🙂 *sigh*
