The more things change, the more …

“It’s like I said, the more things change, the more they stay the same.”
Quark in Star Trek DS9: “What You Leave Behind”

I recently stumbled upon a nice music video on YouTube by ReinaldoUPR(?) when looking for a song (“Gimme Shelter” by The Rolling Stones) from the movie “Flight” (impressive movie, BTW, cried during the end … sniff).

It’s really well done — the images enhance the whole song. But I can’t help wondering — why does this feel so familiar?

Perhaps it’s true that the more things change, the more they stay the same.

PS: It’s surprisingly hard to write about this — I mean, you have this feeling “hey, what this video conveys with images of the sixties is exactly how I feel about our time”, send a friend an eMail about it that the only difference is that President Obama was not assassinated (yet, and I hope he never will), and you can’t help but wondering what happens to that eMail … how was this on YouTube (Sqorck):

Strange times.
