Perhaps optimism isn’t so bad after all …

“If you plan for the worst, all surprises are pleasant.”
Gaul in “The Wheel of Time” by Robert Jordan

As an addendum to yesterday’s posting about the TED Talk regarding “building your creative confidence“, another great one: Tali Sharot about “The optimism bias”. As she puts it beautifully at the end of her talk — why not plan for negative outcomes, but nevertheless use the optimism bias to reap its rewards?

Highly recommended.
